About Our TeamOwners, Aristea (Arrow) & George Sardelis began their passion for cafe operations after purchasing their first place, Dark Horse. They knew from then on that they wanted to open more! Hurricane Handsome was their second baby and has been one of their pride & joys since opening in 2016! Knowing how important friendly service, quality food & delicious coffee would be to the business (and area!) George and Arrow set off on their hunt for the best of the best to make up their team. Head Chef Babu Ram Giri joined and helped with the opening of Hurricane in 2016. Born in Nepal, he arrived in Australia and studied hard whilst having a great passion for learning. He has worked under the watchful eye of some of Australia’s best Chef’s – Neil Perry, Peter Gilmer and Ben Sherry. |  |
 | Babu brings a wealth of diversity in flavours to the Hurricane Handsome team. Anyone who has dined with us has gotten to experience the magical mind of Babu and how he is able to create beautiful, seasonal & flavourful meals. He has worked in in many high paced Venues as either a Chef or Head Chef (Prince Alfred, Rock Pool Bar and Grill, Brisk Catering Degani CBD and many more) before settling at Hurricane Handsome and has been a staple with us ever since! Not long after, our sous chefs Aseem & Bijay joined. During their times with us we have watched them grow into creative & passionate chefs- and have been so lucky to celebrate many milestones with them! Though there have been a few managers before her, Ray then joined the Hurricane Team in 2018 and has been with us ever since! Born in Canada, she arrived in Australia after spending 3 years in the UK. With over 10 years experience in hospitality management specializing in cafes in both Canada & London. If you're a regular to us, you'd probably recognize her (because she definitely would recognize you!) she'll always greet you by name or with a smile. |
| Nearly everyone knows our barista team! Our full time man, Eduardo came from Brazil and has been with us for years! You can always count on Ed to be singing along to the music, having chats with regulars or sneaking a cheeky muffin! And we can't forget our Aly, she's recently moved to part time to pursue her studies but you can still find her here slinging coffees on Fridays & Saturdays! We have a full team of amazing familiar faces to our customers. We are so blessed to have staff that have been with us for years and are able to provide our guests with tailored and personalized visits with us.
